Nicki Minaj Remains Silent Amidst Deportation Petition and Social Media Hiatus

Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has remained conspicuously quiet online following a surge of backlash and a petition calling for her deportation, despite her vocal support for conservative figures. The “Moment 4 Life” artist, 43, has been a central figure in a recent controversy after openly aligning with President Donald Trump and appearing at a conservative event alongside Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA.

The rapper’s endorsement of the “MAGA” movement has ignited considerable outrage among her fanbase, leading to the launch of a Change.org petition demanding her deportation to Trinidad and Tobago, her birthplace. As of publication, over 80,000 individuals have signed the petition.

Minaj, a Grammy-nominated artist, has yet to address the petition or the broader controversy on her social media platforms. Her online presence has significantly diminished, with no posts on X (formerly Twitter) since December 26, and her Instagram account has been entirely deactivated.

Reports on December 24 indicated that Minaj had deleted her Instagram page shortly after her on-stage appearance with Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on December 21. Attempts to access her Instagram account currently result in the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”

While Minaj has previously taken breaks from Instagram, her current absence raises questions about the permanence of her departure from the platform. The controversy appears to stem not only from her attendance at the conservative festival but also from specific comments she made.

During the event, Minaj told Erika Kirk, 37, “I can relate to them when I hear them speak,” referring to President Donald Trump, 79, and Vice President JD Vance, 41. She further expressed “the utmost respect and admiration” for Trump, crediting him with spreading “hope” and praising his administration as “full of people with heart and soul” that makes her “proud.”

Additional comments that drew significant criticism included her statement, “young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president. And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.”

The online reaction to her statements and the subsequent deletion of her Instagram account was swift, with one user on X commenting, “The facts that Nicki Minaj delete her Instagram account, show that she doesn’t give a s–t if she go broke unlike S—– B crying and whining everytime her hater talk about her.”
