Sydney Sweeney Absent from Critics’ Choice Awards as Timothée Chalamet Nods to Kylie Jenner
Los Angeles, CA – While Hollywood gathered for the 31st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards this past Sunday, noticeable by her absence was “Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney. Despite a busy year with two new films, “Christy” and “The Housemaid,” Sweeney’s projects did not secure nominations for the prestigious awards.
Sweeney, 28, garnered praise for her dramatic physical transformation to portray boxer Christy Martin in “Christy,” a role for which she reportedly shed 30 pounds in seven weeks. The film, released on November 28, earned the Outlaw Award at the Denver Film Festival and an Achievement in Acting Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival in 2025. It also received a nomination for the 2026 Astra Film Awards but was notably overlooked by the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Her second film, “The Housemaid,” which premiered on December 19, proved to be a commercial success, raking in an impressive $133 million globally. However, like “Christy,” it also missed out on Critics’ Choice recognition, as reported by the Mirror US.
Meanwhile, actor Timothée Chalamet, whose film “Marty Supreme” hit theaters on December 26, took home the Best Actor award. During his acceptance speech, Chalamet expressed heartfelt gratitude to his loved ones, including a special mention for his long-term girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
“Lastly I’ll just say thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation.
I love you. I couldn’t do this without you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he shared.
The broadcast captured Jenner beaming in the audience, silently reciprocating his affection. Despite previous speculation about their relationship, Chalamet’s tender remarks have fueled fan excitement, with many taking to social media to express their belief in the couple’s lasting connection.
One fan tweeted, “Timothee thanking kylie during his speech, her getting teary eyed, yeah they’re getting married.” Another admirer shared, “Kylie supporting Timothée at such a huge moment is everything.
Their love feels so genuine, we’re witnessing history in real time.”
While absent from the Critics’ Choice Awards, Sweeney recently made a stunning appearance at “The Housemaid’s” Los Angeles premiere on December 15. The actress captivated onlookers in an elegant translucent white gown with a deep neckline, accentuating her figure and evoking Old Hollywood glamour. Her radiant blonde hair, vibrant red lipstick, and classic black eyeliner completed a look reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe.
