Georgia Prison Fight Leaves 3 Dead, 12 Hurt

DAVISBORO, GA – A violent altercation at Washington State Prison on Sunday afternoon resulted in the deaths of three inmates and injuries to twelve others, along with one prison guard, according to authorities.

Davisboro Police Chief Leondus Dixon confirmed to reporters that the incident began during visitation hours when a fight erupted among inmates. Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran described the situation as involving “several major fights.”

The Georgia Department of Corrections reported that the facility was eventually brought under control, and all inmates were accounted for. Details regarding the cause of the fights and the current conditions of the injured inmates have not yet been released.
