Studio City Woman Defies Odds, Wins Car on “The Price Is Right” with Unexpected Number Choices
Studio City resident Kat, a project manager for a cruise line, recently showcased an unconventional approach to winning on “The Price Is Right,” securing a brand-new Kia car through a series of surprising number selections. Her victory in the “Any Number” game left both host Drew Carey and viewers on the edge of their seats.
The episode began with Kat making her way to the stage from Contestant’s Row, where announcer George Gray unveiled the prizes: a comprehensive yoga package and a vibrant red Kia. The goal of the “Any Number” game is to correctly guess the price of the car digit by digit, while avoiding the prices of smaller prizes, such as the yoga mat, and a cash prize in a piggy bank that is always less than $10.
Carey provided the first digit of the car’s price: a 2. Kat’s subsequent choice, a 6, proved to be a surprisingly accurate pick for the car’s value.
However, her next selection, a 1, landed in the piggy bank’s value, and a 4 was found in the price of the yoga mat. The game continued with numbers being placed in various prize categories, and with numbers unable to be repeated.
As the game progressed, two spaces remained in the car’s price, with one space each left for the piggy bank and the yoga mat. Many might have assumed Kat’s chances of winning the car were dwindling. Yet, her next guess, a 5, successfully filled another digit in the car’s price.
With only three numbers remaining-2, 7, and 9-and one space left in each of the three prizes, Kat faced a critical decision. Without hesitation, she chose 2.
This seemingly counterintuitive choice, opting for a lower number when higher ones were available, proved to be the winning move for the car. “That was good logic,” remarked Drew Carey, acknowledging Kat’s unexpected success.
Fans of the show were quick to express their amazement online. One commenter noted the nail-biting nature of the win, stating, “That was very nail-biting!
She probably didn’t think that the 2nd 2 would be in the car price. In this game, it’s rare to see the 2nd number be the last number in the car price needed in order to win it.”
Kat’s strategic, albeit unusual, path to victory serves as a testament to the unpredictable excitement of “The Price Is Right.”
