Elon Musk Wants Full Custody of Young Son

Additional Coverage:

In a dramatic turn of events unfolding on the platform he owns, Elon Musk has declared his intention to seek full custody of his one-year-old son, Romulus, with Ashley St. Clair.

The tech mogul took to X to voice his concerns, alleging that St. Clair, 27, might be planning to transition their young child.

“I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy,” Musk posted. However, beyond Musk’s public claims, there is no independent confirmation or indication that St. Clair has such plans.

This latest development adds another layer to the tumultuous relationship between Musk and St. Clair, which has been playing out in the public eye.

St. Clair, a conservative influencer, author, and commentator, announced the birth of Romulus on February 14, 2025, revealing the baby was born five months prior.

She initially kept the birth private, citing privacy and safety concerns, and later publicly named Musk as the father on X.

Musk initially questioned paternity, leading to a custody dispute and a paternity test that ultimately confirmed his biological link to the child. The estranged couple reportedly met online via X, with their connection blossoming after Musk initiated direct messages and St. Clair interviewed him at X headquarters.

While Musk initially provided substantial financial support, including a $2.5 million upfront payment and $500,000 annually, St. Clair claims these payments were later reduced by 60% as a form of “financial retaliation” – an accusation Musk denies.

The current custody battle appears to be fueled by St. Clair’s recent public apology for past anti-transgender remarks and her subsequent expressions of support for the transgender community.

Musk’s post suggests he interpreted these statements as an implication that she might transition their son. St.

Clair has vehemently denied this implication, accusing Musk of “lying and acting like a petulant man-child.”

St. Clair, who was born in Florida, raised in Colorado, and now resides in New York City, is known for her social media presence, her children’s book Elephants Are Not Birds, and appearances on conservative media.

She previously worked for The Babylon Bee and Turning Point USA, focusing on anti-progressive cultural commentary. In 2025, she launched her own podcast, “Bad Advice with Ashley St.

Clair,” on Musk’s X platform, where she shares personal struggles, including financial hardship and eviction, alongside her conservative views.
