Nicki Minaj’s $20 Million Mansion at Risk Amid Legal Woes
Hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj could face the forced sale of her lavish $20 million Hillside residence as a Los Angeles judge considers a motion to liquidate the property. The move comes after the 43-year-old rapper allegedly failed to pay a $503,000 judgment awarded to security guard Thomas Weidenmüller.
In a 2024 default judgment, Judge Cindy Pánuco ruled that Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, were liable to Weidenmüller. Following Minaj’s reported failure to make the payment, Judge Pánuco indicated in November 2025 that she was “on the verge” of ordering the mansion’s sale. To proceed, the judge requires a statement from Bank of America detailing the payments made on Minaj’s $13.3 million mortgage since the property’s purchase in October 2022.
Weidenmüller filed the motion in October 2025, citing numerous unsuccessful attempts to collect the owed funds since winning the judgment. Minaj is scheduled to appear in court this week for a follow-up hearing, where the judge is expected to receive the necessary bank documentation and issue a final ruling.
The legal battle stems from a January 2022 lawsuit filed by Weidenmüller. He accused Petty of ambushing and punching him in the face at a 2019 concert in Frankfurt, Germany. Weidenmüller claimed Petty’s actions were retaliation for his intervention in a dispute between Minaj and a female security guard, resulting in a broken jaw.
This potential property sale adds to a series of recent controversies for the “Beez in the Trap” artist. Minaj has garnered significant attention for her public support of Donald Trump. In November 2025, she thanked the former president for addressing the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria and later delivered a speech on the topic at the United Nations, introduced by Trump’s ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz.
Her support for Trump continued with a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona, in December 2025. During the event, Minaj praised Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and the former president’s administration.
Minaj’s political endorsements have drawn criticism, leading to a petition in December 2025 advocating for her deportation to Trinidad and Tobago. More recently, she became embroiled in a social media feud with former CNN anchor Don Lemon, which intensified after she posted a homophobic tweet referencing Lemon.
