Kid Rock’s “Rock the Country” Festival Hits Another Sour Note as Pennsylvania Stop Faces Uncertainty

Kid Rock’s ambitious “Rock the Country” festival is reportedly facing yet another roadblock, with a planned stop in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, appearing to be on the chopping block due to dismal ticket sales. The festival, spearheaded by the 55-year-old singer, was initially slated for seven shows across seven different locations, featuring a mix of country and other musical acts.

However, the event has been plagued by difficulties since its announcement. Several high-profile artists, including Ludacris, Morgan Wade, Shinedown, and Jelly Roll, have reportedly withdrawn from the lineup, leading to the cancellation of some dates as planned rosters crumbled. Ticket sales have also presented a significant challenge.

The latest concern revolves around the June 20 show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA. Reports circulating on Reddit suggest that a mere 200 tickets have been sold for the event. Given the venue’s capacity of over 6,600 seats, according to Live Nation, this represents a meager 3% of available tickets purchased.

The revelation sparked a wave of online amusement and jokes, with many questioning the festival’s appeal. Comments included quips like, “Seems like he’s reached a Turning Point,” and a humorous anecdote: “Someone broke into my car and left 4 tickets to this show on my dashboard.

Police are investigating this heinous crime.” Others pondered the replay value of Kid Rock’s discography for even his most dedicated fans.

While no official cancellation has been announced, the Burgettstown date is notably absent from the “Rock the Country” website’s current lineup, suggesting a quiet removal. The website presently highlights shows in Bellville, Texas; Bloomingdale, Georgia; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Ashland, Kentucky; Hastings, Michigan; Ocala, Florida; and Hamburg, New York.

Further cancellations remain a possibility if ticket sales continue to underperform. The festival has also drawn criticism regarding some ticket and camping package prices. Single-day tickets range from $89.99 to $107.99, depending on the location.

Despite the hurdles, the festival still boasts a roster of notable artists for its remaining dates, including Blake Shelton, Brantley Gilbert, Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Lauren Alaina, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Miranda Lambert.
