Accidental Gunshot Wound Identified as Cause of Death for Actor Peter Greene

New York City – The New York City Chief Medical Examiner’s office has officially determined that actor Peter Greene, known for his roles in “Pulp Fiction” and “The Mask,” died from an accidental gunshot wound. Greene, 60, was found deceased in his Manhattan apartment in December.

According to reports, the medical examiner’s findings, released on Wednesday, specify a “gunshot wound of left axilla with injury of brachial artery.” The brachial artery is a significant blood vessel supplying the upper arm, elbow, forearm, and hand. The manner of death has been ruled accidental.

Greene’s passing was confirmed in December by his manager, Gregg Edwards. Neighbors in his building reportedly heard Christmas music blaring from his apartment for an extended period, leading to a wellness check on December 12, when he was discovered.

Edwards remembered Greene fondly, telling The Associated Press, “He was just a terrific guy. Arguably one of the greatest character actors on the planet; Has worked with everybody…

We’ve been friends for over a decade. Just the nicest man.”

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, Greene built a prolific career with nearly 100 acting credits. He gained early recognition in “Laws of Gravity” (1992) and “Clean, Shaven” (1993).

His memorable villainous roles include Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” and the antagonist opposite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz in “The Mask,” both released in 1994. His extensive filmography also includes “The Usual Suspects,” “Blue Streak,” and “Training Day.”

Greene’s final film role was in “Clicka,” released last month. At the time of his death, he was also reportedly involved in producing and narrating a documentary titled “From the American People: The Withdrawal of USAID,” alongside Jason Alexander and Kathleen Turner.
