Reward for Missing Mother of “Today” Host Surpasses $200,000 with Anonymous Donation
Pima County, AZ – The search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, has gained significant momentum with an anonymous $100,000 donation, bringing the total reward for information in her disappearance to over $200,000.
Ms. Guthrie, 84, has been missing since February 1st, and authorities believe she was “taken out of her home against her will,” according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.
The generous anonymous gift was made to the Pima County Attorney’s Office tip line, 88-CRIME, which now offers a $102,500 reward for leads in the case. This substantial sum is in addition to the $100,000 reward previously offered by the FBI.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department clarified that the FBI is not involved in administering any non-FBI rewards. The FBI had recently doubled its reward from $50,000 to $100,000, underscoring the seriousness of the investigation.
Savannah Guthrie made an emotional plea in a video on Sunday, urging anyone involved in her mother’s disappearance to “do the right thing.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated on Wednesday that it would not be “confirming or releasing any details” regarding ongoing investigative procedures, including potential collaborations with Mexican authorities, polygraph tests, video surveillance requests, or financial analysis.
