Savannah Guthrie’s Family Offers $1 Million Reward for Missing Mother, Acknowledges Possibility of Tragic Outcome

Phoenix, AZ – In a deeply emotional public appeal, “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie announced on Tuesday that her family is offering a substantial reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the return of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was reportedly abducted from her Arizona home over three weeks ago.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her residence in the middle of the night. The intense search for her has now entered its fourth week, with local law enforcement and the FBI actively investigating. Key questions surrounding the incident, including the identity of a masked and armed man captured on footage from Nancy Guthrie’s missing Nest doorbell camera, remain unanswered.

In a tearful video message posted to Instagram, Savannah Guthrie conveyed her family’s enduring hope for a miracle, stating, “We still believe in a miracle.” However, she also somberly acknowledged the painful possibility that her mother “may already be gone.”

“She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our daddy,” Guthrie shared, her voice filled with emotion. “If this is what is to be, then we will accept it.”

Despite confronting this heartbreaking prospect, the family’s primary desire is to know her whereabouts. “We need to know where she is,” Guthrie emphasized. “We need her to come home.”

The announced family reward of up to $1 million is in addition to a $100,000 reward already offered by the FBI for information related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. The FBI’s Phoenix field office reiterated the private reward offer in a recent post, urging the public with firsthand knowledge to contact their tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Reflecting on the agonizing period since her mother’s abduction, Guthrie stated, “It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then of worrying about her and fearing for her, aching for her, and most of all, just missing her.”

She implored anyone with information to come forward: “If you hear this message, if you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward, tell what you know, help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she has lived. Please be the light in the dark.”

In a gesture of solidarity with other families facing similar tragedies, Savannah Guthrie also announced her family’s donation of $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. “We know there are millions of families that have suffered with this kind of uncertainty,” she explained, adding, “We are hoping that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need and need prayers and need support.”
