Five Dead in Tragic Purdy Stabbing Incident
Purdy, WA – A violent stabbing incident in the small waterfront community of Purdy on Tuesday morning has left five people dead, including the suspect, according to authorities. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is currently investigating the tragic event.
The incident unfolded just after 8:45 a.m. when deputies were called to a home in Purdy regarding a man violating a no-contact order. As deputies were en route to serve the order, multiple witnesses reported a man actively stabbing people outside the residence around 9:30 a.m.
Responding deputies arrived on the scene and shot the 32-year-old male suspect just three minutes later. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four adult victims were also killed in the attack. Three victims died at the scene, while a fourth succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team has taken over the investigation into the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Purdy is a tight-knit community located near Gig Harbor, approximately an hour southwest of Seattle and 20 minutes northwest of Tacoma.
