Beckham Family Extends Birthday Wishes to Brooklyn Amidst Public Rift
In what appears to be a public olive branch, David and Victoria Beckham have each shared birthday greetings for their eldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, on social media. The posts come after a period of widely reported estrangement and public criticism from Brooklyn directed at his famous parents.
Both David, the former soccer star, and Victoria, the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, took to Instagram to commemorate Brooklyn’s 27th birthday. Victoria’s post featured a heartwarming image of herself and David in a swimming pool with a young Brooklyn between them, captioned, “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much.” She also shared a black-and-white throwback photo of her swinging a toddler Brooklyn, reiterating, “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much.”
David Beckham’s tribute included the same family pool photo, alongside an old black-and-white picture of himself with his son. His caption read, “27 today.
Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x,” referencing a childhood nickname for Brooklyn.
These birthday messages follow a blistering Instagram post by Brooklyn Peltz Beckham in January, where he openly addressed the long-rumored family friction. In his statement, Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling narratives in the press and attempting to “ruin” his marriage to American heiress and actress Nicola Peltz. He asserted that he did not wish to reconcile and criticized what he called their “performative social media posts.”
Brooklyn’s lengthy statement, shared across multiple Instagram stories, detailed instances that he felt contributed to the rift. Notably, he alleged that his mother “hijacked” his first dance at his 2022 wedding to Nicola.
He recounted expecting to dance with his wife, only for his mother to be waiting on stage instead. “My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he wrote, adding that he was “standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
The DJ who performed at the wedding, DJ Fat Tony (Tony Marnach), seemingly corroborated some aspects of Brooklyn’s account in late January. Marnach described Brooklyn as “literally devastated” when Victoria took the stage, recalling that Nicola subsequently left the room “crying her eyes out.” He also mentioned the “awkward” situation on stage when singer Marc Anthony reportedly instructed Brooklyn to “put your hands on your mother’s hips.”
David and Victoria Beckham have not yet publicly responded to Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s Instagram accusations. Brooklyn adopted a double-barreled surname after his marriage to Nicola.
