Wolf Rescued From Under Bridge in Italy

Verona, Italy – Italian firefighters recently pulled off a dramatic rescue, saving a wolf that found itself in a precarious predicament: stuck in a support pylon under a bridge spanning the Milani Canal, near Verona.

The country’s Fire Brigade shared footage of the daring operation, which unfolded in San Giovanni Lupatoto. Firefighters, aided by local police and veterinary staff from the Local Health Authority, worked meticulously to free the trapped animal.

The rescue involved sedating the wolf, then carefully securing it with a catch pole. Firefighters, utilizing an inflatable boat, skillfully extracted the animal from its tight squeeze within the bridge’s support structure.

Once safely on shore, the wolf was transported to the Wild Animal Recovery Center. There, it will receive comprehensive veterinary care before being released back into its natural habitat.
