Chalamet and Jenner Stage Oscar Walkout After Conan’s Ballet Burn

Hollywood’s golden couple, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, reportedly made an early exit from the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15th, following a pointed jab from host Conan O’Brien. The incident, which saw the “Marty Supreme” star become the subject of a comedic roast, led to the pair vacating their front-row seats for approximately an hour.

Chalamet, a Best Actor nominee, found himself in O’Brien’s crosshairs during the opening monologue, a direct consequence of his viral comments regarding opera and ballet made weeks prior at a CNN and Variety town hall with Matthew McConaughey. During the broadcast, O’Brien quipped, “Security is very tight tonight.

There are concerns about attacks from the ballet and opera communities.” The camera quickly cut to a visibly uncomfortable Chalamet and Jenner amidst widespread laughter from the star-studded audience.

Sources present at the Dolby Theater confirmed to The Sun that the couple’s absence coincided with the awards for categories outside of Chalamet’s nomination. “Timothee and Kylie were replaced by seat fillers for an hour,” an insider revealed.

“It seems like he had enough of being the butt of the jokes. They only came back just before the Best Actress and Best Actor categories were announced.”

The controversial remarks that fueled the host’s humor originated from Chalamet’s statement: “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to the ballet and opera people out there.” These comments sparked considerable debate online and drew criticism from various artists, including ballet icon Misty Copeland, who later performed during the ceremony.

Despite the pre-show buzz and subsequent on-stage attention, Chalamet ultimately did not take home the Best Actor Oscar. That honor went to Michael B. Jordan for his performance in “Sinners,” a film that garnered a remarkable 16 nominations.

Chalamet and Jenner, who have been publicly dating for three years and have made several PDA-filled appearances this awards season, were later seen together at the annual Vanity Fair after-party before departing in the early hours. The evening’s events have also been followed by reports of a lip reader exposing a “6-word explosion” from Jenner directed at Chalamet post-Oscars.
