Family Remembers Chuck Norris as Loving Father, Inspiration Following His Death at 86

The family of legendary martial artist and actor Chuck Norris is sharing poignant tributes following his passing last Thursday, March 19, at the age of 86. His twins, Dakota and Danilee, took to social media to express their profound grief and admiration for their father, remembering him as a man of great character and unwavering love.

Dakota Norris shared a series of black-and-white photographs with his father on Instagram, describing the challenge of finding adequate words for his feelings. He lauded his father as “the man I looked up to my whole life,” highlighting his generosity, kindness, courage, integrity, strength, discipline, and faith.

Dakota called the “Walker, Texas Ranger” star “the greatest father God could have ever given me and the finest man I’ve ever known,” emphasizing Norris’s constant reassurance of his love. He expressed pride in being his son and vowed to carry the memories and lessons with him always, concluding with a promise to live a life that honors his father.

Similarly, Danilee Norris posted her own collection of cherished moments with her dad, including photos from infancy to adulthood. She candidly addressed the difficulty of “losing a parent” and described her father as her “protector” from the moment she was born.

Danilee noted that while her father presented a “warrior exterior,” his heart was “so full of love,” deeply caring for everyone in his life. She conveyed immense gratitude for his wisdom and love, pledging to carry on his legacy of compassion.

Danilee thanked him for supporting her passions and encouraging her to pursue the impossible, attributing her self-love to his constant affection. She promised to always strive to make him proud.

Chuck Norris is survived by his wife of nearly three decades, Gena O’Kelley, with whom he shared Dakota and Danilee. He also leaves behind children Dina, Mike, and Eric, along with 13 grandchildren.

The family officially announced his death on Friday, March 20, via Instagram, stating he “was surrounded by his family and was at peace.” Their statement described him as a “martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength” to the world, but to them, “a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” whose life of faith and purpose inspired millions.
