Guthrie Family Renews Urgent Plea for Clues in Mother’s Disappearance
TUCSON, AZ – The family of Nancy Guthrie, including NBC “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, has issued a heartfelt and renewed plea to the Tucson and greater southern Arizona community for any information that could lead to the return of their missing matriarch. Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her home on February 1, marking seven weeks since her disappearance.
Authorities believe Ms. Guthrie, who has a heart condition and limited mobility, was taken from her residence against her will. Police are actively seeking to identify a masked and armed man captured on doorbell camera footage from her home.
In a statement released Sunday via Savannah Guthrie’s social media, the Guthrie siblings – Savannah, Annie, and Camron, along with their spouses – expressed their unwavering belief that local residents hold the key to resolving the case. “We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case,” they wrote.
“Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant.”
The family is desperately asking individuals to “search their memories” for any observations or details from specific dates: January 31, the morning of February 1, and the late evening of January 11. They are also urging residents to review any camera footage, journal notes, text messages, or conversations from those periods that, in retrospect, might seem significant. “No detail is too small,” the family emphasized.
The emotional toll on the family is evident in their statement: “We miss our mom with every breath, and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder.”
To aid in the search, significant rewards have been offered. Savannah Guthrie’s family has pledged up to $1 million for information leading to their mother’s return, acknowledging the possibility that she may “already be gone.” This substantial reward is in addition to the $100,000 offered by the FBI.
Local law enforcement continues to investigate, and the family has also released video pleas, underscoring the urgency of their quest to bring Nancy Guthrie home. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities immediately.
