Chuck Norris Revealed to Have Had Daughter He Didn’t Know About for Nearly 30 Years

Legendary martial artist and actor Chuck Norris passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 86 in Hawaii. While Norris was widely known for his tough-guy roles and martial arts mastery, a lesser-known chapter of his life came to light through his own memoir, Against All Odds, published in 2004.

In a surprising revelation, Norris shared that in 1991 he received a letter from a woman named Dina, claiming to be his daughter from a brief encounter decades earlier. The letter explained that Dina had discovered Norris was her father when she was 16, but her mother advised against reaching out to avoid disrupting his family.

Reflecting on that moment in a 2004 interview, Norris recalled, “I was going through my mail at home, and I see this letter… It’s from Dina.

She says, ‘I’m your daughter from a past experience.’” Despite initial hesitation, Norris’s mother invited Dina over, and when Norris saw her, he instantly recognized her as his daughter without the need for any DNA confirmation.

“I walked into the living room and nearly had my breath knocked out of me… I went to her, wrapped my arms around her, and we both started crying,” he wrote.

The story traces back to August 1962, just before Norris was discharged from the Air Force in Riverside, California. At that time, he had a one-time encounter with a woman while out with his brother. Norris, who was married then to his first wife, Dianne Holechek, expressed deep remorse over the affair, acknowledging it conflicted with his ethical and Christian values.

Dina’s mother had married another man soon after Dina’s birth, and Dina believed that man was her father until overhearing a phone conversation that revealed the truth. After Norris’s divorce became public knowledge, Dina-now with her own family-decided to reach out to him, leading to a close and loving relationship.

Norris later embraced Dina and her family as an important part of his life. He also extended an apology to Dina’s mother for the past deception.

Emphasizing his faith, Norris wrote, “There is no such thing as an ‘illegitimate child.’ Every baby is ‘legitimate’ in God’s eyes; every child is precious in His sight.”

Beyond his personal revelations, Norris’s Christian beliefs inspired him to found Kickstart Kids, a nonprofit martial arts program aimed at instilling discipline and character in Texas public school students. Since its launch in 1992, the program has reached over 120,000 young people in 58 schools.

Following Norris’s passing, his family shared a heartfelt tribute:
“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor and a symbol of strength.

To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved.

Through his work, discipline and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”

Chuck Norris’s legacy endures not only through his iconic career but through the lives he touched and the family bonds he embraced later in life.
