Arizona Teen Missing for 32 Years Found Alive, Case Officially Closed

After more than three decades, a cold case in Arizona has been brought to a hopeful resolution. Christina “Tina” Marie Plante, who disappeared at the age of 13 under what were described as suspicious circumstances, has been located alive. The Gila County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that Plante, missing since 1994 from Star Valley, Arizona, has been identified and her case officially closed.

Plante was last seen on May 15, 1994, leaving her home on Moonlight Drive around midday, saying she was heading to a nearby stable where her horse was kept. Despite extensive searches and investigations over the years, no significant leads surfaced to explain her disappearance. She was initially classified as “missing/endangered,” reflecting concerns for her safety.

Authorities credit the resolution of the case to the work of a dedicated Cold Case Unit and advances in investigative technology. Modern forensic methods and thorough case reviews provided new leads that ultimately led to locating Plante, now approximately 44 years old.

However, officials remain tight-lipped about the details of where she has been or the circumstances surrounding her long absence. Out of respect for Plante’s privacy and well-being, the sheriff’s office declined to disclose further information at this time.

This case highlights the critical role that cold case investigations and evolving technology play in solving long-standing mysteries. Law enforcement encourages anyone with information about other unresolved cases to come forward, emphasizing that no case is ever truly closed until answers are found.
