U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to Launch New Podcast Aimed at Transparency in Public Health
United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced plans to launch a podcast next week that promises to tackle difficult topics in public health with candid and fearless conversations. According to Kennedy, the podcast will feature discussions with independent doctors, respected scientists, and leaders in medical research and innovation.
In a promotional video, Kennedy emphasized the podcast’s mission to “tell the truth, especially when it’s uncomfortable,” and to confront taboos, hypocrisy, conflicts, and corruption that hinder progress in public health. “We’re going to follow the evidence wherever it leads and name the forces obstructing the path to a healthier nation,” he stated. He stressed that the podcast will focus on families, children, and confronting both spiritual and societal challenges to improve national health.
“This isn’t about politics,” Kennedy said. “It’s about making America healthy again through radical transparency.” The effort marks an official push to use podcasting as a communication tool within the government, with HHS digital communications manager and podcast producer Tyler Burger noting this may be the first podcast hosted by a sitting cabinet secretary.
The announcement comes amid reports that Kennedy is revising guidelines for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which advises the CDC on vaccine policies. Kennedy has been known for his vocal opposition to vaccines, a stance that has drawn considerable public attention.
Public reaction to the podcast announcement on social media has been mixed, with some users expressing skepticism and criticism.
Meanwhile, the launch follows other podcast initiatives from the Health and Human Services department, including Second Lady Usha Vance’s “Storytime With the Second Lady,” a podcast featuring children’s book readings aimed at encouraging literacy amid declining national reading scores.
The podcast is expected to debut next week as part of a broader strategy to engage a wider audience on health-related topics.
