Tom Dumont, guitarist for the iconic band No Doubt, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. The 58-year-old musician shared the news with fans through a heartfelt video on Instagram, just weeks before the band’s highly anticipated residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

In the video, Dumont reflected on the past few months spent preparing for the shows. “It’s been very fun, looking through old footage, relearning songs, rehearsing, and working on the video content for the Sphere,” he said. “It’s made me feel grateful for the life I’ve lived as a musician all these years.”

He expressed his thanks to family, friends, and fans who have supported the band throughout their career. Dumont explained that after noticing symptoms several years ago, he received his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

“It’s been a struggle every day,” he admitted. “But the good news is, I can still play music and guitar, and I’ve been doing really well.”

Dumont also spoke about the importance of openly discussing health challenges. “I’ve been inspired by many people sharing their health journeys on social media. It helps reduce stigma and raises awareness, which is crucial for prevention and research.”

Fans and fellow band members quickly responded with messages of encouragement. No Doubt drummer Adrian Young called Dumont his “friend, bandmate, and hero,” while bassist Tony Kanal said, “Love you beyond words, my friend.

Can’t wait to get on stage with you again.” Longtime bandmate Gabrial McNair added, “You are such a beautiful soul, Tom!

I love you so much and can’t wait to get on stage with you!”

The Michael J. Fox Foundation also offered support, thanking Dumont for sharing his diagnosis publicly and assuring him that he is not alone.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects dopamine-producing neurons, leading to symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slow movement, and other challenges like depression and sleep difficulties.

No Doubt’s upcoming residency at the Sphere will be their first extended run in 14 years, and fans eagerly await the band’s return to the stage next month. Despite his diagnosis, Dumont remains optimistic and excited to perform, proving his enduring passion for music.
