RFK Jr. Shakes and Stumbles During Heated Budget Hearing

Concerns about Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s well-being arose after footage showed him exhibiting noticeable tremors during a recent congressional hearing.

The video, captured as Kennedy testified before the House Ways and Means Committee, shows him seated with his hands visibly shaking while holding documents. Later, as he removed his glasses, both his fingers and head appeared to quiver.

The hearing focused on the Biden administration’s proposed budget for the Department of Health and Human Services, which includes a 12 percent cut from current funding levels. Kennedy faced intense scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers over his agency’s handling of program integrity and fraud prevention.

Kennedy is known to have spasmodic dysphonia, a rare neurological disorder, which may explain some of the observed symptoms. Still, the video prompted swift reactions on social media, with many expressing concern for his health.

One user commented, “If RFK Jr. has some kind of health condition, the American people have a right to know.” Another added, “He looks really sick.

I hope he gets medical help soon.”

Beyond health concerns, the hearing turned contentious as Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) questioned Kennedy about the reinstatement of 850 individuals suspended for suspected healthcare fraud under the Biden administration but later reinstated under President Trump. Doggett pressed Kennedy on whether these individuals had been thoroughly vetted and if new safeguards had been implemented to prevent further fraud.

Kennedy’s responses drew criticism, with Doggett stating, “You can’t answer that. That is very troubling.”

The exchange highlighted tensions over the handling of fraud allegations and program enforcement. Doggett emphasized, “We’re all against fraud, sir,” rejecting Kennedy’s attempt to frame the issue along party lines.

The hearing also followed recent Justice Department announcements of multiple prosecutions targeting half a billion dollars in alleged healthcare and COVID-related fraud schemes, underscoring ongoing challenges within federal healthcare programs.

As the hearing concluded, the clash between lawmakers and Kennedy underscored the pressure on his leadership amidst budget cuts, fraud concerns, and questions about his capacity to manage the agency effectively.
