Meghan Trainor Cancels Tour to Focus on Family and New Baby

Meghan Trainor has announced the cancellation of her upcoming Get in Girl tour, which was scheduled to begin this June. In an Instagram Story shared on Thursday, the singer cited family priorities as the reason behind her decision, describing it as “the right decision for my family and me right now” after “a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations.”

Trainor explained that juggling the release of her new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming a new baby girl into their family of five has become overwhelming. “I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time,” she wrote.

While apologizing to her fans for the disappointment, Trainor assured them she would “be back soon” and expressed excitement for the release of her new album, Toy With Me, set for April 24. “I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always,” she added.

The Get in Girl tour, announced last November, was set to launch on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, with notable stops planned at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the United Center in Chicago, and a finale at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Speculation quickly arose on social media regarding low ticket sales as a possible factor in the cancellation, with some Ticketmaster seating charts showing sparse bookings. Chris Olsen, a close friend of Trainor’s and social media influencer, addressed the criticism on TikTok, calling out the harsh online commentary and urging a broader perspective. “This is a bigger conversation than just her and people’s feelings toward Meghan,” Olsen said, questioning the motives behind the negativity.

Earlier this year, Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their third child via surrogate. The singer has been open about her difficulties during her previous pregnancies and expressed gratitude to the medical teams who made this option possible. “We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family,” she shared.

As Trainor steps back from touring to focus on her family, fans can look forward to her forthcoming album release later this month.
