- Kanye West keeps low profile at son Saint’s motorbike race after four concert dates axed (themirror.com)
Kanye West made a low-key appearance at his son Saint’s motocross event in Perris, California, following a series of cancellations of his European tour dates.
The 48-year-old rapper showed up to support his 10-year-old son, who was competing in the dirt bike race. Kanye kept a subdued look with a black face mask covering the lower half of his face and wore a light brown tracksuit paired with matching boots, blending into the background as he cheered on the young racer.
This family moment comes amid mounting disruptions to West’s “Ye World Tour” in Europe, which was intended to promote his latest album, Bully. Several shows have been scrapped, including a scheduled performance in Switzerland. The venue, St Jakob-Park, released a statement explaining their decision: “We cannot, in accordance with our values, provide a platform for the artist in question within this context.”
The Swiss date has since been removed from West’s official tour schedule, with his next confirmed concert set for May at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.
West’s recent controversies stem from a series of antisemitic remarks, which have sparked widespread backlash across Europe, particularly in the UK and France. He issued an apology earlier this year via a Wall Street Journal advertisement.
One major cancellation was his headline slot at the Wireless Festival in London, reportedly worth $15 million. Festival organizers condemned antisemitism, stating, “We recognize the real and personal impact these issues have had,” and noted West’s expressed desire to engage in dialogue with the UK Jewish community.
In France, West withdrew from a June 11 concert in Marseille. His announcement on social media came shortly after the city’s mayor, Benoît Payan, declared that the rapper would not be welcome, condemning him for promoting hatred and “unapologetic Nazism” and affirming Marseille’s commitment to unity and inclusion.
Similarly, West’s concert in Poland was canceled due to “formal and legal reasons,” according to the venue’s director.
Amid the turmoil, West’s family life remains a focus. Saint is one of four children he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, along with North, Chicago, and Psalm. Kardashian recently posted a photo of Saint riding a dirt bike and popping a wheelie, captioned, “BIKER BOY SAINT,” highlighting the young boy’s passion for motocross.
As Kanye West navigates both personal and professional challenges, moments like these at his son’s race offer a glimpse of normalcy amid the storm.
