Kid Rock’s Rock The Country Festival Kicks Off Amid Weather Woes

Kid Rock’s new multi-city music festival, Rock The Country, launched its inaugural weekend in Bellville, Texas, but early attendees are facing some tough conditions. The festival, held May 1-2, 2026, at the Austin County Fairgrounds, features a lineup of top country acts such as Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, and Ella Langley, with Kid Rock himself headlining. The event was designed to celebrate America’s upcoming 250th anniversary and carries a strong patriotic theme.

Unfortunately, heavy rain and flooding warnings have quickly become a major challenge for festival-goers. Many reported soggy and muddy camping grounds, dampening the overall experience.

One attendee, Kory Doty, described the conditions as “wet and nasty,” noting that while flooding hasn’t become severe yet, more rain was expected through the evening. Despite the weather, campers have remained friendly and cooperative, and no equipment damage has been reported so far.

Doty, who traveled from nearby Sealy and grew up in Bellville, plans to stay for the full weekend to catch Kid Rock’s Saturday night performance before heading home Sunday. She praised the festival organizers for their efforts given the small-town setting, saying, “Bellville is a very small town, so we are all in the middle of a cow field.”

Kid Rock emphasized that Rock The Country is more than just a concert series. “It’s this simple.

Rock The Country isn’t just a music festival; it’s a movement,” he said at the festival’s launch. “In 2026, as America celebrates its 250th anniversary, this is a place for hard-working, God-fearing patriots to gather as one and celebrate freedom, music, and the party of the year.”

Following Bellville, the tour will continue across multiple cities, featuring a diverse mix of rock and country artists. Rock acts such as Creed, Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Uncle Kracker, and Danny Worsnop will perform alongside country stars including Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, and Hank Williams Jr. Select venues will also host rap legends Ludacris and Nelly.

However, the festival has seen some controversy, with country artist Jelly Roll pulling out amid criticism over the event’s political associations.

Despite the early weather setbacks, the Rock The Country festival aims to build momentum as it travels nationwide, celebrating music and patriotism in its unique style.
