Rolling Stones Surprise Fans with New Single and Album Announcement

Additional Coverage:

After weeks of building anticipation, The Rolling Stones have officially announced details of their upcoming album. Titled “Foreign Tongues,” the new record is set for release on July 10.

Alongside the announcement, the band unveiled the first official single, “In the Stars,” which is now available on digital platforms. Interestingly, this isn’t the very first track from the album that fans have heard. Back in April, the opening song “Rough and Twisted” was quietly released on white label vinyl under the pseudonym The Cockroaches and has since been made available digitally.

Following the success of their Grammy-winning 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds,” Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood reunited with producer Andrew Watt to craft this 14-track collection. Recorded in under a month at London’s Metropolis Studios, “Foreign Tongues” is described as a dynamic and forward-thinking record that honors the band’s signature sound while exploring new musical and lyrical directions, reinforcing their legendary status.

Notably, the album features contributions from the late drummer Charlie Watts, with recordings drawn from his final sessions before his passing in 2021. Additionally, several prominent guest artists appear on the album, including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“Foreign Tongues” will be available in multiple formats and is currently open for preorder. Fans can look forward to experiencing fresh material from one of rock’s most enduring icons this summer.
