During this year’s Netflix Is a Joke festival, a unique musical collaboration took center stage when three late-night hosts joined forces with Abbey Lutes, star of Love on the Spectrum, to cover The White Stripes’ iconic track “Seven Nation Army.”

The performance took place at the Night of Too Many Stars event held at the Hollywood Bowl, a benefit supporting national autism programs. Jimmy Kimmel took to the bass clarinet, Jon Stewart handled the drums, and Conan O’Brien played the well-known bass line. Abbey Lutes, who has appeared in every season of Love on the Spectrum, added her talent to the mix.

Some viewers initially misidentified Kimmel’s bass clarinet as a saxophone, though many quickly corrected the record in social media comments. Kimmel himself shared a humorous anecdote about his early music lessons, revealing that as a child, he thought a trombone was called a clarinet and ended up in clarinet class by mistake. Reflecting on the mix-up in an interview with Rolling Stone, he recalled the band teacher’s laughter and how his mother’s purchase of a clarinet sealed his musical fate.

This year’s festival, held in Los Angeles from May 4 to 10, marked its third biannual run and featured a lineup of comedy heavyweights. The Night of Too Many Stars was hosted by Jon Stewart and showcased performances from Bill Burr, Conan O’Brien, Steve Carell, Tiffany Haddish, Jimmy Kimmel, John Mulaney, and many more.

The festival will wrap up on May 10 with the Roast of Kevin Hart at 8 p.m. ET.

Known for delivering sharp roasts himself, Hart will be the subject this time, as fellow comedians deliver their jabs in a live event at the Kia Forum in LA. The roast will also be streamed live worldwide on Netflix, with Shane Gillis hosting and a lineup of comedians yet to be announced.
