LONDON – Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion, announced on Tuesday that he will withdraw from next month’s grass-court Grand Slam tournament due to a persistent wrist injury.

The young tennis star sustained the injury during the Barcelona Open last month, which also led to his withdrawal from the upcoming French Open scheduled to begin this weekend.

Alcaraz began the year with a historic win at the Australian Open, becoming the youngest man in history to claim all four major tennis titles.
