Charissa Thompson Opens Up About Heartbreaking Loss of Her Beloved Dog Willis

FOX Sports host Charissa Thompson shared a touching and emotional message this week after the passing of her cherished dog, Willis. The 44-year-old broadcaster revealed that her “heart will never fully heal” following the loss of her first-ever dog and longtime companion.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Thompson described Willis as “everything to me,” reflecting on 12 wonderful years together. She expressed the deep pain of saying goodbye to her “best friend” and acknowledged the difficulty of losing a pet she loved so dearly.

This loss comes just seven months after Thompson mourned another dog, Daisy, who fell ill unexpectedly and passed away shortly before Thompson was set to host Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football.” The recent grief adds to the emotional toll the FOX Sports personality has been navigating.

Thompson shared fond memories of Willis, highlighting the lessons he taught her about love, loyalty, and companionship. Her post included several photos capturing special moments with Willis throughout his life.

Many friends and colleagues offered condolences in the comments. Fellow FOX Sports star Erin Andrews wrote, “We love you Willis!

We will take care of your sweet Mom for u.” ESPN’s Laura Rutledge expressed her sympathy, saying, “I am so sorry.

Sending you love and prayers. Crying right along with you.”

CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis and NFL personality Kylie Kelce also sent heartfelt messages of support.

Thompson has been spending her offseason at Ruby Ranch, her 75-acre retreat in Emerald City, California. Earlier this year, she shared photos from the ranch showing snowy landscapes and joyful moments with her dogs, partner Steve Cundari, and friends-including a smiling Erin Andrews.

As Thompson grieves her loss, she is surrounded by a community of friends and fans who continue to offer comfort during this difficult time.
