Lombardo appoints new Clark County judge, replacing embattled judge who resigned

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Gov. Joe Lombardo has appointed a replacement for a Clark County district judge who resigned in early May.

Colleen Brown will take the bench on June 29, replacing Erika Ballou, who resigned on May 7. Brown will serve as Eighth Judicial District judge, Department 24.

Ballou resigned after she was sanctioned by the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline for failing to send a criminal defendant to prison and defying the state supreme court.
