LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man accused of driving drunk when he killed another driver tried to blend in with homeless people to avoid arrest after running away from the crash scene, according to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
Jerry Hughes, 22, appeared in Clark County District Court on Tuesday, where he faces DUI resulting in death, duty to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in death, and reckless driving resulting in death.

According to an arrest report, two witnesses in separate vehicles said they saw Hughes’s 2021 Dodge Charger drive through two intersections with steady red lights. The first one was at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway, and the other was at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Tamarus Street.
