LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian is dead Monday morning after being struck by an unknown vehicle in the northwest valley, police say.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred around 12:37 a.m. near Jones and Craig. The male pedestrian was located in the roadway, and was determined to have been hit by an unknown vehicle.
Evidence at the scene, witness statements and video surveillance indicated the pedestrian was crossing West Craig Road from south to north outside of a marked or implied crosswalk when he stumbled several times and fell onto the roadway, police say.
A dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on West Craig Road struck the pedestrian, who was lying in the road. The driver continued eastbound without stopping, rendering aid or notifying police, according to LVMPD.
Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined the pedestrian could not be resuscitated. He was pronounced deceased at the scene…
