LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Henderson Department of Motor Vehicles office will permanently close this fall and be replaced by a new facility under construction in Silverado Ranch, the Nevada DMV said.
The Silverado Ranch location is approximately 10 miles — or about 15 minutes — from the current Henderson office. The DMV announced the upcoming opening on social media Monday, writing: “The wait is almost over — Silverado Ranch DMV coming this fall.”
Why the Henderson office is closing
DMV spokesperson Hailey Foster said funding constraints are driving the consolidation.
“It just really has to do with our cap on our funding,” Foster said. “It’s just a little bit more expensive to keep both offices operational. So we’re just merging everything into one.”…
