Daily storm chances continue through next week as monsoon moisture lingers

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Monsoon moisture will bring an increase of showers and thunderstorm chances to the region Friday. At least a slight chance of showers and storms remains in the forecast through next week, with the greatest storm coverage north and east of the Las Vegas Valley.

The best chance for isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening, mainly over the mountains north and east of Las Vegas. Some storms could move into the valley later in the day, bringing brief heavy rain, lightning and strong wind gusts.

Friday is expected to be the coolest day of the forecast period, with a forecast high of 99°F.
