Tenants say broken AC unit left them in hot Las Vegas apartment for days

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Two roommates in the southwest valley are looking for answers after dealing with air conditioning issues in their apartment for weeks.

According to Kaity Tainer and Matthew Delaney, their air conditioning unit broke on July 4 at their apartment unit at the Gramercy Residences near Russell Road and Fort Apache Road. Tainer and Delaney said they immediately contacted the apartment’s emergency line.

“Obviously, it’s a holiday, so it’s tough, but we called the emergency line. They said it would be treated as an emergency, and then nobody replied to us. Nobody got back to us that day. So I called them again, ended up having to call them twice the next day because nobody was really giving us updates, and I believe it was the end of that day the first person came and just said he couldn’t fix it, and it would have to be fixed the next day, and on and on from there,” Delaney said.

The tenants said they were given two small window units to try and help, but claim they were no match for the July summer heat creeping through the top floor of the apartment complex…
