When visitors head to the Las Vegas Strip, their main concern is typically how much they plan to spend on gambling, not whether they might encounter bedbugs during their stay. However, experts warn that checking your hotel room for bedbugs is essential to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Confirmed Bedbug Cases at Major Resorts
Recent records from the Southern Nevada Health District reveal that over the past two years, six prominent Las Vegas Strip resorts have reported confirmed bedbug cases following guest complaints. These properties include well-known names such as Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Resorts World, The Strat, and Horseshoe Las Vegas.
While more than 80 complaints related to bedbugs were filed concerning Strip hotels between early 2024 and mid-2026, only six of those investigations verified the presence of bedbug infestations. In addition, in May 2025, former guests filed lawsuits against Treasure Island and Luxor casinos, claiming to have suffered bedbug bites during their visits.
Each affected room in these cases was promptly taken out of service to undergo professional pest treatment. After thorough follow-up inspections confirmed the extermination of bedbugs, the rooms were reopened to guests.
Bedbugs Can Infest Any Hotel
Diego Rodriguez, a technical specialist and certified entomologist with Preventive Pest Control, explains that bedbugs can appear in any hotel regardless of its class or reputation.
