Las Vegas has a new trick to keep people safe: AI-controlled lights

Las Vegas is testing an AI-powered lighting system designed to make crosswalks safer and pedestrians more visible to drivers.

The first installation is at First Street and Ogden Avenue, near major attractions including Circa, Binion’s and the California Hotel & Casino.

The intersection is also just steps from the Fremont Street Experience, an open-air, neon-lit entertainment hub, which draws more than 24 million visitors a year, according to Intelligent Security Systems, the company that developed the technology…
