Las Vegas woman killed in hit-and-run near Nellis, Twain; vehicle found, driver at large

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A pedestrian was pronounced dead after she was hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in the east valley Sunday night. Police said the vehicle involved was found, but the driver was still outstanding.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the hit-and-run happened at around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, near South Nellis Boulevard and East Twain Avenue.

Evidence at the scene showed that a pedestrian, a 36-year-old woman, was crossing Nellis Boulevard in or next to a marked crosswalk. At the same time, an unknown gray sedan was driving south on Nellis, approaching Twain.

As the vehicle entered the intersection, the woman was hit and projected onto the road. The sedan failed to remain at the scene and fled the area…
