LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As we enter the work week, we’re looking at a nice spread of double digits with highs in the upper 90’s, putting us 5 degrees below normal. Some valleys will see low 100s, but this is such a nice difference from the extreme heat we’ve had.
As we close out this month and enter September, we’re sticking with a cooler pattern. High pressure has moved off, well to the east of us, and a trough sliding in from the west is bringing this welcoming change. For this afternoon and Monday, there is still a slight chance of isolated storms, but only for Mohave and Lincoln counties.

For Monday, only slight chances return with a 10% chance for Las Vegas, although a drier flow is pushing in midweek. Winds will stay breezy this week too, with winds coming from the west and south and gusts up to 20-30 this time around through the weekend.
An air quality alert has been issued this Sunday for Clark County as California wildfires continue to burn and the winds may push that towards our area. Air quality will remain between the good to moderate range for today. As we near next weekend, it looks like rain chances may return to the valley again…
