LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Women in Nevada were killed by men at a rate higher than the national average in 2024, with guns the most common weapon identified, according to a new analysis released by the Violence Policy Center.
The Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit released its Nevada findings as part of its annual “When Men Murder Women” study, which analyzes FBI homicide data involving one female victim and one male offender.
The report identified 32 female victims killed by men in Nevada in 2024. Nevada recorded a rate of 2.0 victims per 100,000 women, compared with the national rate of 1.4 per 100,000. The rate dropped from 3.5 per 100,000 in Nevada in 2023, but remained above the national rate…
