LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Henderson city leaders took a moment at City Hall Tuesday to honor something most people never see but depend on every time it rains.
They proclaimed “Concrete Pipe Week” to thank a local company that helps keep neighborhoods from flooding.
The city presented a proclamation to Rinker Materials and the American Concrete Pipe Association, recognizing the role their storm drain pipe plays in Henderson’s flood control system. Officials said those concrete lines divert water away from homes and streets and back toward Lake Mead, protecting families when monsoon rains hit.
