$50M gifted to state’s first stand-alone children’s hospital

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Intermountain Healthcare Foundation on Tuesday announced a $50 million commitment from Larry and Heidi Canarelli to help bring Nevada’s first comprehensive, stand-alone children’s hospital closer to reality.

This gift advances Intermountain Health’s Nevada Campaign for Kids, expanding access to specialized pediatric care close to home.

To honor the gift, Intermountain Health will name the inpatient tower the Larry & Heidi Canarelli Inpatient Tower.

Set to open in 2030, the tower will be a “transformational place of healing, where breakthrough technology, specialized pediatric expertise, and extraordinary compassion come together for children and families,” according to a press release. It will include 180 inpatient beds, with room to expand to 228. Planned services include a trauma center, an emergency department, the state’s highest-level neonatal intensive care unit, cancer center, behavioral health services, child abuse treatment center, and advanced medical and surgical specialties…
