LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —FOX5 found trash scattered across a lot near Sunset Road and Decatur Boulevard after receiving a tip about illegal dumping at the location.
FOX5 visited the site and saw tents, graffiti, and trash covering the ground near some railroad tracks. Two people living there, who go by Brownie and Brian, said the area is their home.
Couple describes frustration
Brownie said some organizations that help homeless people have not been able to help them.
“It’s just so frustrating, because you get your hopes up, like, when they say they’re going to help you. And you get all these things that are promised to you. And it’s just nothing comes from it,” Brownie said.
How the couple gets by
The couple said they dumpster dive to get what they need. Brian fills up his cart and brings items back to the site. They say this has been happening since last May…
