Henderson Police to receive first ‘Community Engagement K9’

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Nevada non-profit organization is set to donate and present the Henderson Police Department with a special four-legged community partner.

Silver State Service Dogs will present “Jinx” the department’s first Community Engagement K9 on Thursday, Feb. 1.

Jinx has undergone extensive training to assist in helping calm individuals, enhance public interaction, and promote a sense of safety within the community, according to Silver State Service Dogs.

“Jinx is not only a highly skilled companion but also a symbol of our commitment to collaborative efforts between the police force and the community it serves,” Founder and Director of Silver State Service Dogs Dr. Diane Villa stated. “We express our gratitude to the Henderson Police Department and K9 Sergeant Dave Adams, and we are excited about the positive impact that Jinx will have on fostering stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.”

The community is welcome to attend the Henderson City Hall Council Chambers presentation from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 1.
