LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — A Las Vegas man faces several hit-and-run related charges after police say he hit and killed a moped driver before running a red light while leaving the crash, documents said.

On Jan. 19, at around 11:55 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to the intersection of East Flamingo and South Pecos roads after a gray pickup truck hit a red moped.

Medical personnel pronounced the moped driver dead at the scene. Police later identified him as Norris Scott, 66.

Several witnesses told police that a gray pickup with no headlights on was driving east on Flamingo Road when it hit the moped before running the red light at the intersection, according to an arrest report. One witness also told police the driver of the pickup had a long beard.

The report stated one witness estimated the truck was driving at around 55 miles per hour at the time of the crash.
