The drive from Phoenix to Las Vegas is horrible. Build an interstate, already

I just completed a road trip to Las Vegas and was astonished by the poor conditions of the myriad roads necessary to complete the trip.

The two largest (not to mention fastest growing) cities in the desert Southwest are connected by a series of poorly surfaced two-lane and divided highways, including junctions that require routes through small town roads.

Meanwhile, I can travel from Salt Lake City to Reno on “Super” Interstate 80. I can also travel from Maine to Florida on I-95 without ever stopping at a traffic light or negotiating a traffic circle.

This is an infrastructure failure that defies comprehension. We need the leaders of Arizona and Nevada to demand funds to build Interstate 11.
