LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Rain is expected to start dampening valley roads Thursday mid-to-late morning and increase throughout the day to steady showers that could impact the evening commute.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas posted this message on its X account.
“A Pacific Storm will move across our region today and tonight producing widespread rain and adverse driving conditions due to slick roads and ponding water in some areas. Use caution when driving.”
Pahrump started seeing light rain early Thursday morning as the Pacific storm started moving into Nevada from California.
The FAA said if the storm produces a low-ceiling of clouds in the Las Vegas valley it could impact air travel at Reid International Airport . FlightAware is reporting some “inbound flights to Las Vegas are delayed at their origin an average of 3 hours and 10 minutes due to low clouds.” By 10 a.m., FlightAware was reporting a total of 418 delays, mostly on inbound flights, and 22 cancellations. Thousands of flights were delayed or canceled last week during a similar storm that caused visibility issues.
