This writer’s spouse works at Las Vegas’ highest rated golf course where money is no object to many of the guests who go there to play. Many of them fly into town in private jets, which they frequently land at either Harry Reid International Airport, or one of the municipal airports in Henderson or North Las Vegas.
To fly a private jet into an airport, large or small, requires requesting a landing time and reserving a parking spot if you plan to leave the jet for any period of time. Normal fees for parking your jet at a Las Vegas airport can run from $20 to $150 per day, according a report issued by the Las Vegas Review Journal. However, Super Bowl is a special event, so the airport fees skyrocket and those who can afford to fly private don’t mind paying the exhorbitant fees for the freedom to come and go as they please. No commercial flight schedules for them, thank you.
But now, nearly a full week before the big game, the Vegas airports are reportedly all booked up. There’s nowhere left to park your private ride. And if you haven’t already booked your landing time, even if you aren’t parking, then you’d better start searching small airports further out … like in Laughlin or Boulder City!
