Henderson businesses concerned as $50M development appears vacant

LAS VEGA (KLAS) – Golden shovels broke ground three years ago on a $50 million Henderson development, which now sits empty.

The Watermark is planned to open in Downtown Henderson directly across from Henderson City Hall, but delays and concerns from business owners have spurred questions about what the property owners, Strada Development Group , will do next.

According to Strada’s website , the property was due to open in the third quarter of 2023, but now the businesses on Water Street want an update.

Marvin Wallace, owner of Pacific Diner , said the newest update from Strada indicated he was going to be able to move his restaurant into The Watermark on Jan. 1, 2023, but another deadline has gone by and he is spending time and money trying to figure out what the next step is.

“We are looking forward to being a part of the property and having cool décor inside embracing our train theme,” Wallace said. “But we really haven’t heard much.”
