LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — A man accused of shooting and killing a woman in a Las Vegas Strip hotel room told police his name was “John Doe” after he was found with four fake IDs from three different states.
Dandre Owens, 29, faces several charges after a woman’s body was found in a room in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, as 8 News Now first reported.
On Jan. 29 at around 2 a.m., a man called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department asking for them to perform a welfare check on his girlfriend, later identified as 29-year-old Brittani Bailey.
The man told police he spoke with Bailey four hours prior and knew she was visiting the MGM Hotel and Casino and told police a specific room number, the report stated. He said he called her several times and did not receive an answer.
LVMPD officers contacted MGM Hotel security, who knocked on the room several times but did not receive a response. Security officers heard music playing inside the room and after receiving no answer, entered the room, according to the report.
