Las Vegas drug agents seize 70 pounds of meth after dealers mistakenly provide some for free

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Drug agents seized more than 70 pounds of methamphetamine and arrested four men after the group mistakenly provided undercover officers with several bags for free, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Fernando Beltran, Francisco Bojorquez, David Gallegos and Jorge Villanueva face charges of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, records said.

In January, a confidential Drug Enforcement Administration source informed investigations Villanueva was allegedly selling meth in Las Vegas, documents said. That month, an undercover officer purchased three pounds of meth from Villanueva. The transaction occurred in a parking lot in the south valley.

During the transaction, DEA agents allege Beltran drove Villanueva to the meeting site and Bojorquez provided the drugs to him.

The methamphetamine weighed more than 10 pounds, instead of the agreed upon three, agents said.
